Phu Quoc It! We’re Stuck On The Island.

profileWednesday 25th November

After an early start this morning to catch our ferry to Hatien, we were informed by the hotel that all ferries on the island were canceled due to bad weather.  Bad weather??  Where?  The sea is calm, there isn’t a breath of wind.  Collectively we think there’s something fishy going on.

Anyway, after a heated conversation with the hotel staff (headed up by my compatriot) who gave us this bad news we opted to head to the airport to catch the 09:05 flight to Rach Gia and we’d bus it from there to the Cambodian border.  Moments after reaching the airport we were informed that the flight was full.

Strangely the hotel insisted that they could not ring the airport to find out this information.

The four of us left the airport, found a spot to sit down and had coffee.  I googled.  Found out that the next available flights to Rach Gia were on Friday morning.  I booked four tickets, found another hotel on Phu Quoc and booked two rooms for two nights.

Happy days. Problem solved.  Two more nights on Phu Quoc.  Life’s a beach.  We’ll go to Cambodia on Friday morning now.

I can think of worse places to be stuck than a paradise island :)
